This limited-production 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 Indianapolis 500 Edition is a highly original survivor with just under 92,000 indicated miles. Featuring the sporty regular cab/short box body combination, specific Indy Package items include Brilliant Blue Monotone paint, a 5.9-liter Magnum V-8 engine with 245 Net BHP, White accent stripes, “Dodge" windshield graphics, 17-Inch American Racing wheels, a sport-tuned exhaust, and Indy 500 graphics - shipped uninstalled with the truck and applied at the buyer’s option. In total, the Indy Package added $1,350 over the MSRP for the Dodge Ram SLT Sport. The special 5.9-liter Magnum V-8 features numerous factory performance upgrades, including Sequential Multipoint Fuel Injection (SMPI), a progressive-bore throttle body and aluminum intake manifold, high-flow exhaust manifolds, short-stem valves, powdered metal rocker arm fulcrums, extra-thick rocker arm covers, a serpentine-belt accessory drive, heavy-duty spark plug wires, and high-flow water pump A 4-speed automatic transmission and 9.25-inch rear end with 3.50:1 gears deliver the power. Built in March 1996, this example was formerly located in Michigan and Florida from new through 2014. Factory equipment includes A/C, power brakes and steering, power door locks, a tachometer, the optional 6-way power-adjustable seat, and optional Trailer Tow Group.
