Ford’s original Mustang created a sensation at launch during the 1964 New York World’s Fair, with the Hardtop and Convertible jointed later that year by the stunning new 2+2 Fastback body style that also served as the basis for Carroll Shelby’s GT350. Built at Ford’s Dearborn factory, this former Florida-based 1965 Ford Mustang Fastback continues to benefit from a restoration including numerous desirable upgrades, followed by garage storage when not in use. Sporting an unforgettable, high-quality red paint finish, the Mustang retains its stock body style that needs no embellishment. The engine bay is in similarly fine order and the floors, chassis, and suspension are solid and well-maintained. The chassis and suspension are finished in black and the underbody is protected by a professionally applied undercoating with a uniform depth and texture unlike so many other restored classic vehicles. The vinyl-clad, bucket-seat interior is in excellent condition with black upholstery, matching loop-pile carpeting, Deluxe front and rear armrests, and a fold-down rear seat. Courtesy lighting enhances usability. The driver is greeted by a tilt steering wheel, auxiliary gauges, and a column-mounted tachometer. In addition to an OEM heater/defroster, the Mustang is upgraded with air conditioning and a modern r134a compressor.
Power and performance are delivered by a later-model 302 ci V-8 powerplant dressed with a set of finned aluminum rocker covers and a Ford Racing air cleaner. A throaty rumble is provided by a great-sounding full-length dual exhaust system. An aluminum radiator and electric fan ensure cool running. A modern dual-circuit brake master cylinder, power booster, and four-wheel disc brakes featuring slotted and cross-drilled rotors and Brembo calipers deliver stopping power. Power steering provides cruising ease. A console-shifted 3-speed automatic transmission delivers the power with a mild stall-type torque converter. Subframe connectors, a front sway bar, and rear traction bars enhance power delivery and handling. Finishing touches include Magnum 500 wheels, BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires, and excellent chorme and bright trim, and ‘302’ front badges. In addition, the dash featues the autograph of drag racing legend Don “Big Daddy" Garlits. Plus HST & registration fees. WE WILL TAKE ANYTHING IN ON TRADE! [email protected]
