Featuring only mild styling updates mainly limited to the grille, Ford’s highly successful F-100 light-duty pickup trucks for 1954 ushered in the automaker’s powerful all-new “Y-Block" V-8 engine design. Named the “Power King" and factory-rated at 130 horsepower, this new 239 cubic-inch V-8 powerplant represented Ford’s future and replaced the venerable “Flathead" V-8 in use since 1932. Repainted and restored not for show but for classic cruising enjoyment and occasional use under a prior owner, this 1954 Ford F-100 features Blue Metallic and White two-tone paint, newer cargo-bed flooring and stake rails, retrofitted turn-signal indicators, a rear trailer-hitch receptacle, and a White painted grille and bumpers. The cab interior remains essentially stock, with the exception of the Blue velour bench seat cover, door panels, and headliner. Other highlights include a great-sounding exhaust, proper 3-speed manual transmission, Magic Air factory heater, and dual chrome mirrors. Welcome updates include an electric cooling fan and battery quick-disconnect coupling.
